In the last couple years, decade, whatever, there has been an influx of virus, spyware and trojans.
As a major fan and lover of the computer, this really pisses me off. It makes my experimenting with downloads and programs that much harder, because I have to deal with all the bullcrap I get.
What is wrong with the people who make things like viruses? Do you have that much time on your hands that you get a bright idea to go and harm, even destroy, someone's computer. A computer that for all you know could be an essential part of that person's day, or hold important things such as business documents, memories, etc.
Now there's all this bullshit with Olympic torches and postcard viruses, were it literally destroys your C drive or whatever. What kind of demented joy could destroying someone else's hard drive possibly give you? Sicks fucks.
Simple tip to those who, like myself, tend to attract lots of nasty shit on your computer these tips will give you a highly effective FREE way to defend and clean your computer.
1) Ditch Norton if you have it, Nortan is useless bullcrap and a waste of money.
2) Get AVG Free addition, honestly WAY better then Norton.
3) Download and update Spybot Search & Destroy. One of the (if not the) greatest free spyware removal programs. It's highly effective, straight forward and easy to use. A must for any downloader.
And that's all you really need, I don't even use a firewall anymore (except for XP's shitty one) since Comodo's new one fucked my computer over.
To any of the sick fucks out there, I will shitkick the fuck out of anyone who I find has been making viruses. =D

I have a blog yet to be published about this topic, and I would like to point out a few problems with your argument. AVG is no better than Norton, especially if you download it for free off the internet. It has poor detection, and evidently slows down your computer. If you need a really good anti-virus, I suggest using Nod32 from Eset. The software picks up most signatures and updates itself every half hour, or hour. *Can't Remember* Anyways, you can download it for free with full functions; however you only have it for 30 days. Solution? Get a crack for it. I do not encourage getting a crack for it; however, you can get a crack off the internet that will adjust the trial days to a unlimited amount of days tricking the software. Another program aside from Spybot Search & Destroy which I would recommend for Adware would be Ad-adware SE PLUS by Lavasoft. Once again, Ad-aware is a free download, similar to Spybot S&D and it does a really good job! I suggest scanning with Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware once a week. I also suggest checking for updates. Nod32 on the other hand will do it for you, and it also has a lot of scanners that monitors what comes in and out from your computer. Scanners such as AMON monitors your system files, EMON for emails, IMON for internet and DMON for document monitor.

AVG is a computer destroyer. As it removes your 'virus' it removes your valuable windows cab or registry files as well and renders your computer USELESS. I've witnessed this too many times to count.
I've never had a problem with AVG and Elle you know how much I screw up my computer. xD
As for AVG slowing your computer, that only happens while it is scanning. Just set it to scan during a time you wouldn't be on the computer.
